セネカ　　Lucius Annaeus Seneca, 5/4 B.C.-65 A.D.
Lucius Annaeus Seneca (often known simply as Seneca, or Seneca the Younger) (c. 3 BC - AD 65) was a Roman philosopher, statesman, and dramatist of the Silver Age of Latin Literature.

歴史的にセネカは父と子がいるが、一般的にセネカというと子のSeneca the Youngerを指す。

カリグラに追われるが、アグリッピナにネロの教師役としてローマに呼ばれる。その後、政治家としても羽振りを利かせるが、最終的にはネロの怒りを買い、死を命じられる。

Seneca was born in Cordoba, Spain, the second son of Helvia and Marcus (Lucius) Annaeus Seneca, a wealthy rhetorician known as Seneca the Elder. Seneca's older brother, Gallio, was proconsul at Achaia (where he encountered the apostle Paul about AD 52).
