ヘレニズム文化

ヘレニズムとはギリシア人（ヘレネス）に由来する語で、ギリシア風という意味で用いられるが、広くギリシア文化全体を指すこともある。

一般にはアレクサンドロス大王の東方遠征によって東方の地域に伝播したギリシア文化が、オリエント文化と融合して誕生したものをいう。このためヘレニズム文化の中心地は、ギリシアよりも、むしろシリアのアンティオキア、エジプトのアレクサンドリアなどギリシア外にアレクサンドロス大王がおいた都市であった。-wikipedia.jp
